Whether you need to cut concrete, stone, asphalt, structural steel or pipes, the STIHL TS 440 cut-off machine, equipped with a 350 mm cutting wheel such as the STIHL D-SB 80 diamond cutting wheel, will complete all of these tasks reliably. Thanks to the extended guard adjustment, the tool can be used efficiently in tight spaces when cutting pipes, corners and walls. If there is a strong kickback, the STIHL QuickStop cutting wheel brake stops the cutting wheel in a fraction of a second.

The high-performance STIHL 2-MIX engine, combined with the two-level belt drive, ensures high engine power when carrying out demanding cutting applications. The optional retrofittable STIHL ElastoStart function and decompression valve reduce the amount of force required to start the machine, so that you can work comfortably with the STIHL TS 440. • MANUAL FUEL PUMP: A small fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburettor at the touch of a button. This reduces the number of starting strokes required from a cold start.
• MANUAL DECOMPRESSION: EFFORTLESS START-UP. The decompression valve makes it easier to start your power tool. When starting, you can allow some of the compressed mixture to escape from the cylinder by opening the valve. This protects the start-up system and reduces the amount of force required on the starter cord.
• MAGNESIUM GUARD: LIGHTWEIGHT AND STABLE. The cutting wheel guard ensures that you are not hit by flying cut material or cooling water from the cutting wheel. The cast magnesium guard is very lightweight and robust.
• STIHL QUICKSTOP CUTTING WHEEL BRAKE: FOR MORE VERSATILITY. In confined spaces, it may be useful to open out the wheel guard when using your cut-off machine, so you can then also cut upwards. To ensure that you work as safely as possible even in this kind of situation, if sufficient kickback occurs the sensor-controlled STIHL QuickStop cutting wheel brake stops the cutting wheel in a fraction of a second.
• TWO-STAGE BELT DRIVE: ENGINE POWER FOR DEMANDING CUTS. The two-stage belt drive gives your cut-off machine extra torque at the cut-off wheel. This means that even challenging cuts can be made cleanly, as high engine power means the cut-off machine is unimpaired by high cutting pressure.
• LONG-LIFE AIR FILTER SYSTEM FOR CUT-OFF MACHINES: ENSURES A LONG FILTER SERVICE LIFE. The long-life air filter system for cut-off machines does not collect coarse dust particles, but uses cyclone air routing to separate them and then discharges them into the ambient air. With just this first step the system removes around 80% of dust particles in the intake air. This enables an extremely long filter service life, and makes the tool easy to maintain.
